Safeguarding
Safeguarding means protecting children’s health, wellbeing and human rights, enabling them to live free from harm, abuse and neglect. It’s a collective responsibility aimed at preventing and addressing situations where individuals, especially vulnerable groups, are at risk.
Howardian Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the health and welfare of all children, and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
Child Protection
Child Protection refers to the measures taken to safeguard children from harm, including abuse, neglect, exploitation and violence. It involves identifying and addressing situations where a child is at risk of suffering significant harm, acting to protect them and providing support to promote their wellbeing.
Our Culture of Safeguarding
Our culture of safeguarding is an essential element of our Wellbeing Strategy with relationships being at the heart of our school. This demonstrates our commitment to promoting and supporting a culture of safety and wellbeing both inside and outside of school and online.
Children’s Rights are at the heart of our school. We are a Gold: Right’s Respecting School. We believe that all children have a right to be safe from abuse (Article 19 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child) and have a right to an education (Article 28 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child).
