We are very proud that we have achieved The Period Standard: Merit Award. We aim to help our pupils feel comfortable to discuss periods and ask for support when needed.
At Howardian we provide:
Period products that are freely available in toilet cubicles for Year 5 and Year 6 pupils
Period pants that are available in a variety of sizes
Spare clothing when needed
This has helped to increase access to period products and tackle the issue of 'period poverty' for families that may find it difficult to afford products. If you would like to enquire about the period pants or period products that can be provided please contact the school.

The Health and Wellbeing Promoting Schools team have worked together with the charity Brook to develop a webinar about the Period Dignity Scheme.
The aim of the session is to provide parents and carers with an overview of the Period Dignity Scheme and an understanding of menstruation, period products and how to support their child with periods.
As well as refreshing knowledge about periods, parents and carers can find out about the different types of period products available for free in Cardiff and discover useful resources to support talking about periods with young people.
