  • Additional Learning Needs (ALN)

    Additional learning needs, often referred to as ‘ALN’, is a term used to describe learning difficulties or disabilities that make it harder for a child to learn compared to children of the same age. 

    There are a wide range of learning difficulties or disabilities, which can be broadly classified into the following four areas:

    • Cognition and Learning

    • Communication and Interaction

    • Sensory and/or Physical

    • Behavioural, Emotional and Social Development

    Mr David Brind is our Additional Learning Needs Co-ordinator (ALNCo). This means that he is responsible for making sure that children who need additional support with their learning receive that support – either in school or from a specialist teacher or professional from one of the other agencies that we work with.  Mr Brind is always approachable – if you have any concerns, please contact him to discuss these. Alternatively, have a look at the documents below.
